Training School(s)

Fifth training school – Belgrade, Serbia, March 13-15, 2024

ODIN will deliver a training school on core analysis approaches linked to the following specific MoU objectives.

  • Objective 3 – Coordination of information seeking, identification, collection and/or data curation (End Year 3)
  • Objective 4 – Input to stakeholders (End Year 4)

The three-day event will cover internationally leading approaches to advanced design for complex structures, including contemporary methods of computational modelling and optimization techniques, as well as their combination. Members of the COST Network will lead the training school and deliver state-of-the-art research presentations. The event will be a hybrid event to ensure maximum exposure for the network. This training school is critical for the Network to achieve certain Action Objectives (below) and were included in COST Action Progress Review at 24 months.

The booklet for the Training School on Computational Modelling and Advanced Design Approaches (COMADA), that will take place in Belgrade, Serbia can be found here.

Fourth training school – Ohrid, North Macedonia, 18-20 September 2023

The booklet for the Training School on INspection, SIGNal processing, Identification and Analysis (INSIGNIA) happening in Ohrid, N.Macedonia September 18-20th, 2023 can be found here.

Third training school – INSA, Rouen, France, 12-14 April 2023

The training school corresponds to working group 1: “Design, Optimisation and Integration”. It aims to utilise the knowledge produced by other partners to develop standards/guidelines to optimise aerospace structures for SHM systems. The subjects covered during the training school will be the following:

  1. Optimisation algorithms
  2. Deterministic and stochastic optimisations
  3. Reliability analysis

The course will be delivered by key members of Workgroups and will be delivered through practical laboratories, workshops and lectures. ECI, Females and ITC members will be prioritised for delivering key sessions to enhance their reputation and profile.

A significant challenge of the project is to ensure that specific aerospace requirements are communicated effectively and efficiently to the SHM system designers. Thus, one of the ambitions of the training school is the participation of industrial partners.
